The EFI Global Microbiology laboratories in Houston, TX and Sacramento, CA support a wide range of indoor air quality professionals within the United States and abroad. These include professionals in environmental consulting, industrial hygiene, mold remediation, building and commercial property management, real estate, the insurance industry and law firms.

We specialize in the analysis of indoor air quality samples for common fungi, yeasts and bacteria found in residential and commercial properties. Both EFI Global laboratories are equipped to analyze fungi collected by volumetric sampling from various matrices. These include, and are not limited to, culturable (Andersen), non-culturable spore trap samples (Zefon Air-O-Cell), tape, bulk and swab surface samples. All laboratory personnel conducting the analysis are trained extensively both in-house and at the McCrone Research Institute in Chicago, IL.

In addition to fungal analysis, we offer an extensive list of services for the identification of bacteria in indoor environments. Bacterial samples are identified to the Genus or Species level and enumerated. We also perform routine testing for water quality. Samples collected for the water quality testing are analyzed for Escherichia coli and other coliforms. Results are reported as the number of colonies of Escherichia coli and other coliforms found in 100 ml of water tested.

Our Texas and California microbiology laboratories are participants in the American Industrial Hygienist Associations Environmental Microbiology Proficiency Analytical Testing Program (EMPAT). Laboratory identification number 163092 and 167593 respectively.
