EFI Global Responds to Hurricane Katrina
Base Camps Established in Louisiana and Mississippi Staffed with Engineers, Environmental Experts, Fire Investigators and Technicians.

EFI Global, a leading provider of forensic engineering, fire investigation, environmental, accident reconstruction and laboratory testing services, has placed experts at operational base camps in downtown New Orleans, Covington, Louisiana, and Pass Christian, Mississippi, and several other points throughout the Gulf Coast region.

Ron Holt, President and CEO, EFI Global, Inc. has appointed Ed Peszek, Catastrophe Response Manager, EFI Global Inc. to oversee EFI Global’s immediate and long-term catastrophe response efforts.   Peszek has over twenty years of diverse environmental and engineering consulting experience, and will be coordinating response teams on site as well as from our command center.

“The widespread damage associated with Hurricane Katrina is at a level that I’ve never experienced before and demands strategic planning and capabilities that we are in line to offer,” said Ed Peszek.  “I am very pleased with the exceptional work our experts already on site have accomplished and look forward to generating results and solutions for our customers.”

Engineers are currently studying structural damage in assessable affected areas, and teams are now in place to provide mold evaluations, moisture mapping, indoor air quality and asbestos surveys. EFI Global is taking disaster recovery inquiries and assignments through a dedicated Hurricane Katrina phone line operating from EFI Global headquarters in Houston, TX.

“EFI Global is devoted to enlisting field experts to offer skilled testing, assessments and knowledge to the hurricane devastated areas in the Gulf Coast.  Professional engineers, environmental, fire and mold experts, and technicians have already conducted numerous assessments and reports are being processed at our headquarters daily,” says Ron Holt, President and CEO, EFI Global, Inc.  “It is our intention to provide any and all resources to meet every request and need of our customers throughout this extensive recovery period and beyond.”
