Mechanical equipment evaluation in Karachi, Pakistan

 

Summary:

One of our senior mechanical engineers was engaged to perform site inspections of a gas turbine and metallurgical testing on turbine blades following power failure in an electrical grid served by a power plant located in Karachi, Pakistan. Due to the complexity and parties involved, our expert conducted multiple site inspections to investigate the cause of the failure.  The testing was conducted to determine cracking and vibration disturbance of the blades that may have led to failure.  In addition, our expert performed design document and product data research to support our field investigation. Our analysis resulted in discovery of a potential design flaw as the cause of the failure. As a result of our investigation, the client was able to identify a source of potential subrogation and recovery of damages.
